Brand kit and export

Save a brand kit

A brand kit saves a clip's look so you can reuse it.

  1. Style a clip the way you like it.
  2. Click Brand in the left rail.
  3. Name the look (for example "My style") and save it.

In the menu next to a kit, Make default applies that kit automatically to newly generated clips, and Delete removes it. Clips already styled keep their look.

Apply a brand kit

  1. Open a clip and click Brand.
  2. Click Preview next to a kit. You see only what will change. Nothing changes until you apply.
  3. Choose Keep my custom edits to keep changes you made on this clip, or Replace custom edits to use the kit's settings everywhere.

If parts of a kit can't be used on a clip, the preview lists them as skipped before you apply.

Add an intro and outro

  1. Open Brand and find Intro & outro.
  2. Set the Length in seconds (0.5 to 30) and type the Call to action text.
  3. The card is added before (intro) or after (outro) the clip.

Intros and outros add to your clip's total length and are included in exports.

Download your clip

  1. Click Save changes. Downloads only include saved changes.
  2. Click Export in the top bar.
  3. Click Download MP4 to get the file for your last saved version.

You can also download a clip from My Videos without opening the editor. If your latest changes are still processing, you get your last finished version, so download again in a few minutes to get them.

Clips created on the Free plan are watermarked, and that doesn't change when you download them later.

Export a new MP4

Use Export MP4 to create a new file with your saved changes and these settings:

  • Resolution: 720p or 1080p
  • Frame rate (fps)
  • Quality: Standard or High
  • Audio: As edited, or Even out volume
  • Show captions in the video

To get a file you've already exported, use Download instead.

Export checks

Before exporting, PowerCut checks the clip. If something needs fixing, the check tells you what, and Show on timeline takes you to the item. Common reasons:

  • You have unsaved changes. Save them to include them in your export.
  • We can't confirm you have rights to this media. Replace it to export.
  • This video is longer than your plan allows. Shorten the video and try again.
