Editing basics
This is part one of the ten-minute editor tour. The other parts cover cut, clean, sound and pace, visuals, text, emoji and transitions, and layout, crop and tracking.
Find your way around the editor
- Left rail: opens one panel at a time (Hook, Captions, Cut & Clean, Sound, Pace, Visuals, Text, Emoji, Motion, Layout, Brand).
- Preview: plays your clip with every edit applied.
- Storyline: the transcript. Select words here to edit them.
- Timeline: every section and added item, laid out in time.
- Top bar: undo, redo, save status, Save changes and Export.
Every panel has a ? button with short steps. The first time you open a panel, it shows one tip.
Edit from the transcript
Select words in the Storyline, then choose an action:
- Delete: removes the video and audio for those words.
- Edit: changes the caption text only.
- Highlight: colours those words in the captions.
- Adjust timing: changes when one word's caption appears (see Captions).
- Add: puts AI B-Roll, an emoji or an AI hook on the selected words.
Work on the timeline
Keyboard shortcuts on the timeline:

| S | Split the section at the playhead |
| Delete | Delete the selected item, or the section under the playhead |
| Alt (hold) | Turn snapping on or off while dragging |
| + / − | Zoom in or out around the playhead |
| 0 | Zoom to fit the whole clip |
| ⌘ or Ctrl + scroll | Zoom around the cursor |
| Esc | Clear the selection |
| ? | Show or hide the shortcut list |
You can't split exactly on the edge of a section. Move the playhead a little away from the edge first.
Undo and redo
Use the undo and redo arrows in the top bar. A bulk action, like applying several cleanup suggestions at once, undoes in one step.
Save your changes
Edits apply to a draft straight away, but they only reach downloads and exports once you click Save changes. The top bar shows Not saved yet or All changes saved.
If the clip was changed somewhere else, for example in another tab, you'll see "This clip changed somewhere else." Click Reload clip to get the latest version, then save.
Add a hook
A hook is short text shown at the start of your clip.
- Click Hook in the left rail and turn on Show hook text.
- Type your hook.
- Set Show from and Show until in milliseconds (1000 = 1 second).
- Pick a style preset, background and Entrance and Exit animations.
Under Spoken hook you can confirm the text for an AI voice. The AI voice audio isn't generated in the editor yet. See Known limitations.
